My Soccer Experience

When you send your child to play group sports, it is hard to expect the coaches to have time to get each individual playing up to their highest skill level. I experienced private coaching past the age at which I should have been recruited to play high level college ball. That was my goal, and my lack of confidence, knowledge, and skill was holding me back. I did not have a safe environment to workout and train in when I was young. I learned how wrong my form was too late, and I had to push my body so hard when I was recruited for D1. I did not feel good and I was not motivated to eat well. All the hard work made me feel I deserved all the treats I wanted, and my main effort at nutrition was protein shakes.

When I was 17, I was told I had the hips of a 70 year old. I knew the measurements taken were bad, even if the man delivering the news was exaggerating. I had to find ways to get my weakest points up to par with my entire body. I struggled to fit those exercises into my routine. Eventually, I knew them well enough to where I could complete them while sitting with friends or watching television. Whatever down time looks like for your family, we can take the time to add in some healthy practices that boost you into a better lifestyle.

I am so blessed to have good enough health today to pass along these lessons. The earlier we can help our young ones find healthy, balanced lifestyles, the better chance they have at a pain free, action packed adulthood. This academy is my offering to pour into each family that I encounter, all that I have learned. We will work to keep God as the center of our lives, while we strive for these huge goals in this crazy world.

Thanks for reading my story, God bless!
